Houghtaling and Downey Statement on the Retirement of Senator Loretta Weinberg

After Senator Loretta Weinberg announced her retirement on a zoom press conference Wednesday afternoon, Assembly Members Eric Houghtaling and Joann Downey issued the following joint statement:

"Senator Loretta Weinberg has been a remarkable advocate and leader regarding women's issues. She has spent her career working for the people, and fighting for equality for those who face disadvantages each and every day. Senator Weinberg has made a great contribution to the betterment of our state."

"We thank Senator Weinberg for her extraordinary service to the people of New Jersey and great friend and mentor to us in Monmouth County. We wish her well as she moves on to spend precious quality time with her family."

The 11th District includes the Monmouth County municipalities of Allenhurst, Asbury Park, Colts Neck, Deal, Eatontown, Freehold Borough, Freehold Township, Interlaken, Loch Arbour, Long Branch, Neptune City, Neptune, Ocean Township, Red Bank, Shrewsbury Borough, Shrewsbury Township, Tinton Falls and West Long Branch.
