OCEAN TOWNSHIP - Assembly Members Eric Houghtaling and Joann Downey today announced their continued leadership of the Assembly Agriculture and Natural Resources and Assembly Human Services Committees, respectively.
“I’m proud to have had an opportunity to work on the issues that matter to our state’s green and agricultural industries, and I’m excited to roll up my sleeves and get back to work as the new session begins,” said Houghtaling (D-Neptune). “As one of the Garden State’s biggest industries, our agricultural sector has an incredible amount to offer our state’s economy and culture, and I look forward to continuing to collaborate with farmers, fishermen, nurserymen, conservationists, and all others who value our state’s beautiful open spaces and rich natural resources.”
“I’m honored by the opportunity to continue serving our state’s most vulnerable residents as Chair of the Human Services committee,” said Downey (D-Freehold). “There’s still so much left we can do to improve the quality of life for working families, those with mental health challenges, and our disability community, and I thank every self-advocate and ally for making your voices heard in Trenton and beyond. It has been an honor to work with you these past two years, and I look forward to continuing our efforts to ensure that no New Jersey resident is overlooked or forgotten.”
Assemblyman Houghtaling will also serve Vice-Chair of the Assembly Oversight, Reform, and Federal Relations Committee and as a member of the Assembly Committees on Labor and Tourism, Gaming, and the Arts.
Assemblywoman Downey will also serve as a member of the Assembly Financial Institutions and Insurance Committee.
